Repsol announces plans to build the first advanced biofuels plant in Spain

Repsol of Spain recently announced its intention to construct an advanced biofuels plant at the company’s existing Cartagena facility site to supply transportation fuels with a reduction in emissions. The company is designing this facility to produce 250,000 tons of biofuel per year from recycled raw feedstock into products such as hydrobiodiesel, biojet fuel, bionaphtha, and biopropane.  Repsol stated that the initial investment for this project was for €188 million and is due for completion in 2023.
